>>> investigators on a caribbean island are on the hunt for a suspect that robbed stephen breyer at machete point. pete williams is in washington with the latest on this. pete, good morning.
>> reporter: matt, good morning. justice breyer was vacationing with his wife and some friends in the caribbean when they all became victims of the robbery. he actually owns a house on the island in the west indies . according to a spokesman, last thursday night a man wearing a mask and carrying a machete broke in and robbed them at knifepoint. police and supreme court officials say he made off wdze ewith $1,000 in cash. no one was hurt. the man ran away. local authorities say she made no arrest and have no suspect. it was part of a string of recent robberies on this island. there is no indication that stephen breyer was singled out because of his position on the supreme court . the justices are no strangers to this kind of random crime. in 1996 , a man snatched rouge bader ginsburg's purse and then david souter who was on the court was mugged while jogging near his home here in washington. matt?
>> i'm to assume there is no special security provided for justices of the supreme court ?
>> reporter: well, that's one thing the court doesn't talk about or the marshal service. i think it's fair to assume there is always more security when they're on official business than they are when they're on vacation.
