FX on Tuesday set the premiere date for Sheen's new sitcom, which returns him to weekly TV after his noisy exit last season from the CBS hit "Two and a Half Men." Announced last summer, "Anger Management" is loosely based on the 2003 movie about a non-traditional therapist.
Fox says two episodes will air June 28. It has ordered 10 episodes for the first season.
Scheduled the same night are the second-season premiere of the comedy "Wilfred," starring Elijah Wood and Jason Gann, and the third-season premiere of "Louie," starring Louis C.K.
Rounding out the night is the premiere of "Strangely Uplifting," a new comedy starring Russell Brand.

The Americans were wounded when one of the protesters apparently hurled a grenade into the compound. The extent of the injuries was unclear.
The attack occurred as 400 demonstrators stormed the American outpost to protest the?inadvertent burning of?Qurans at the U.S. Bagram airbase north of Kabul. More than two dozen people, including?four U.S. troops, have been killed since Tuesday, after?the Qurans and religious materials had been thrown into a fire pit used to burn garbage. ?President Barack Obama and?U.S. officials have apologized and said it was a?mistake, but the incident has sent thousands of protesters into the streets.
One senior?U.S. military official said?the results of the U.S.-Afghan investigation into the incident are still "days away."

The order by General John Allen, the top U.S. militiary commander in Afghanistan, to withdraw all American and NATO forces from Afghan ministries remains in effect. Last week President Obama signed a sweeping aviation bill that, among other things, will open the skies to ?unmanned aircraft systems,? more commonly known as drones. Much of the discussion regarding the coming era of domestic drones has been focused on the many important questions regarding their use at low altitudes. To what extent will it be legal, for example, for drones to hover 300 feet above residential neighborhoods snapping pictures into backyards and windows? What level of human-in-the-loop control is needed to ensure safety in a crowded airspace? And how can we stop terrorists from piloting drones at treetop level towards a target?
But there is another portion of the airspace?the stratosphere?that while mostly empty today, will in the coming years will become increasingly populated by gossamer-like, solar-powered drones turning silent, lazy circles in the sky. These drones will stay aloft for years at a time, running on energy collected during the day using solar panels mounted on paper-thin wings. As their slowly turning propellers push them along at bicycle speeds, arrays of high-resolution cameras on their undersides will record the daily comings and goings of the population of entire cities.
The stratosphere lies roughly between 40,000 and 150,000 feet in altitude. Commercial airliners often ply its lower reaches, but above about 55,000 feet the traffic is limited to a few military reconnaissance planes, unmanned weather and scientific balloons, and at rare intervals, a rocket arcing upward on its way to orbit. The stratosphere is mostly empty, cold, and quiet, closer to the blackness of outer space than to the din of human commerce.
Like so much in aviation, that is about to change. The technology to turn the stratosphere into the domain of the drones is already well under development. The Zephyr, a high-altitude, solar-powered drone designed by British company QinetiQ and weighing under 120 pounds despite having a 74-foot wingspan, stayed aloft for two continuous weeks in a summer 2010 test in Arizona. In September 2010, Boeing announced that it had been awarded a contract by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to develop the Solar Eagle, a craft that will eventually be able to fly above 60,000 feet for five continuous years. And many of the information technologies needed perform detailed surveillance from these platforms are already found in common consumer electronics devices.
Of course, permanent eyes in the sky aren?t new. Satellites, after all, have been a constant presence for decades, and the best military reconnaissance satellites can likely deliver stunningly precise pictures of a target of interest. However, spy satellites can?t linger over a single point on the ground. By contrast, stratospheric drones will operate at altitudes that are simultaneously high enough to enable coverage of an entire city and low enough to easily collect and convey detailed images of everything in view.
What, exactly, will these drones be able to see? A lot, as it turns out. They will record the route and speed of every vehicle on the streets. They will observe the movements of individual pedestrians. At night, they will capture the precise moments when the lights in living rooms and bedrooms are turned on and off. The data they acquire, which can be correlated with information from mobile devices and smart meters, will become an important component of the growing digital record of nearly everything we do.
And what of the legal framework for the privacy of the information collected using high-altitude drones? In 1986, the Supreme Court ruled that the police use of a private plane to view otherwise hidden marijuana plants growing in a California back yard did not constitute a violation of the Fourth Amendment because the observations were made from ?public navigable airspace.? This precedent suggests that the owners of drones operated in public airspace may initially enjoy broad latitude to use them for surveillance.
Ryan Calo of the Stanford Center for Internet & Society projects that drones will lead to a tightening of privacy protections precisely because they can expose so much formerly private information. For low-altitude operation, this tightening may well occur. It is hard to imagine, for example, that paparazzi and stalkers will enjoy legal protection for the long-term operation of small, camera-equipped helicopter drones above private residences.
But high-altitude drone surveillance that indiscriminately captures the detailed life of an entire city is unlikely to be viewed by the courts as a violation of the Fourth Amendment. Privacy rights, both in the formal legal sense and in terms of the accompanying societal expectations and tolerances, are often tied to the extent of individual targeting involved. For example, most of us do not object to the presence of video surveillance cameras in transit systems, office buildings, and retail stores. We recognize the necessity of this surveillance, and, importantly, we know that the video recording is not preferentially directed towards specific people. In practice, privacy is both an absolute and a relative concept, and we tend to be more accepting of privacy reductions that apply equally to everyone.
Today, no government body is actively and publicly promoting a plan to establish a permanent high-altitude surveillance drone presence above American cities. But because it will soon be inexpensive and easy to do so, and because the information gathered will be considered useful and valuable, it will inevitably happen?not this year, and likely not next year, but almost certainly by the end of the decade.

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) ? Federal regulators have approved new suppliers for two crucial cancer drugs, easing critical shortages that had been ratcheting up fears that patients, particularly children with leukemia, would miss lifesaving treatments.
But there are currently 283 separate prescription drugs in short supply or unavailable nationwide, and regulators and manufacturers say shortages are a long-term problem that will continue to give patients and doctors nightmares.
On Tuesday, the Food and Drug Administration said it will temporarily allow importation of a replacement drug for Doxil, a drug for recurrent ovarian or bone marrow cancer. The Johnson & Johnson drug hasn't been available for new patients for months because J&J's contract manufacturer had to shut down production over serious quality lapses.
The FDA also has approved a new supplier for a preservative-free version of methotrexate, a crucial drug for children with a type of leukemia called ALL, for lymphomas and for the bone cancer osteosarcoma. The version with preservatives, the one that's been scarce, can be toxic or cause paralysis in children and other patients getting the drug either by injections into spinal cord fluid or at very high doses.
The FDA also has approved the release of a batch manufactured by Ben Venue Laboratories Inc., shortly before it closed several factories at its complex in Bedford, Ohio, due to serious quality problems. That closing was what turned the periodic methotrexate shortage that began in late 2008 into a crisis almost overnight, with fears that kids would begin missing treatments within weeks.
"We have made real progress ... We believe that (suppliers) will be able to meet the demands of patients in the U.S. market" for the two drugs indefinitely, FDA Dr. Commissioner Margaret A. Hamburg told The Associated Press in an exclusive interview. "It's a huge relief for us."
Numerous medical and drugmaker groups, along with the White House, applauded the news but cautioned that much still must be done to resolve all the problems causing shortages.
The FDA increasingly has been able to prevent shortages, mainly due to a sixfold increase in manufacturers voluntarily notifying the FDA when they anticipate shortages and agency efforts to expedite any approvals needed for new production lines, Hamburg said.
Thanks to such notice, the agency prevented 195 drug shortages in 2011, mostly late in the year after President Obama issued an executive order giving FDA additional resources to address the shortages. Hamburg said companies have been "very responsive" when FDA asks them to boost production after another company warns it will halt a drug's production.
In the latest case, the FDA has temporarily allowed importation of an alternative to Doxil called Lipodox, made by Sun Pharma Global FZE. The Indian drugmaker already sells products in the U.S., and its factory has been inspected.
The FDA is allowing APP Pharmaceuticals LLC to make the preservative-free version of methotrexate in addition to its current drug with preservatives. The company had made a preservative-free version years ago, but needed to update paperwork and meet other requirements, which the FDA expedited.
"Within the next four to six weeks, we can supply clinics with this drug," Mitchell L. Ehrlich, a vice president with APP parent Fresenius Kabi USA, said during a Washington news conference announcing the new steps.
Ehrlich said his company previously helped resolve serious shortages of other important drugs, such as by increasing production of doxorubicin ? which treats several types of cancer ? from 10 percent of the market supply to 60 percent.
Hospira Inc. on Monday began shipping 31,000 vials of preservative-free methotrexate, more than enough to meet a month's U.S. demand, to hundreds of hospitals and treatment centers, said its CEO, Mike Ball. He said the company will ship another 34,000 units next week and 55,000 more in mid-March to build a supply cushion. It's also now transporting from around the world to its Australian factory about 100 kilograms of methotrexate's active ingredient ? enough to make about a three- to four-month supply.
Two other companies, Mylan Inc. and Sandoz Inc., also are ramping up their production of preservative-free methotrexate.
Still, hundreds of other drugs remain in short supply, including at least six for cancer.
"I don't think we can ever close the book on drug shortages," Hamburg told The AP. "I think we will always have to be vigilant."
Drug shortages have increased dramatically in the U.S. over the past six years, particularly for generic injected drugs. They are the workhorses of hospitals but are difficult to make and produce little profit for drugmakers. At least 15 deaths since 2010 have been blamed on the shortages.
Doctors have had to resort to second-choice drugs that don't work nearly as well, have more-serious side effects or cost much more than one unavailable. For some drugs, there simply isn't a good alternative.
So far this year, 27 new shortages have been reported, and about 215 that began in 2010 or 2011 remain unresolved, according to Erin R. Fox, manager of the University of Utah Drug Information Service, which tracks shortages.
"At this time last year, we were on a pace of about one new shortage per day. Thanks to FDA's hard work, that pace is cut in half for this first part of 2012," Fox said.
The shortages are caused primarily by problems with sterility and other serious issues that have led to shutdowns of production lines and occasionally entire factories.
In addition, consolidation among generic drug manufacturers, as well as manufacturers deciding to end production of marginally profitable drugs, has led to decreased capacity. That means when one manufacturer suddenly stops production, the small number of others making a drug can't quickly pick up slack. And for some drugs, demand has increased.
The inability to get crucial medicines has disrupted not only carefully timed chemotherapy regimens, but surgery and care for patients with infections, pain and other serious conditions.
Meanwhile, some unscrupulous smaller distributors, dubbed "gray marketers," have been exacerbating shortages by charging hospitals many times the normal price for drugs that can't be acquired through normal suppliers. Several bills in Congress are pending that would establish penalties for drugmakers that don't give notice of impending shortages, or by setting penalties for price gouging on prescription drugs.
Of late, the cancer drug shortages have attracted the most attention, partly because missing multiple treatments can sharply reduce the chances of curing the disease.
